New Book on Global Forestry

Drs. Ron Harpelle and Michel Beaulieu have just released an edited collection on globalization in the forest industry. Pulp Friction: Communities and the Forest Industry in Global Perspecrtive is a result of several projects dating back to 2006. Along the way Dr. Harpelle Chaired or Co-Chaired a series of conferences and workshops from which most of the material in the book is drawn. The book is divided into 12 chapters and among the authors are Ronald Harpelle, Michel Beaulieu, Bruce Muirhead, Chris Southcott, Thomas Dunk, Nicole Klenk, Maureen Reed, Sharmalene Mendis-Millar, Peggy Smith, Lynn Palmer, Harvey Lemelin, Denise Golden, Charles Conteh, Hayley Hesseln, Simon Weseen, Matt Vermette, Hanna Snellman, Mikka Voutilainen, Diego Pineiro, Matias Carambula, and Jussi Pakkasvirta, all of whom are leaders in their respective fields. Publication support for the book came from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
