Labour History Education Project

The purpose of the Labour History and Education projects is two fold. First, it is intended to examine the current status of the teaching and inclusion of labour history/labour issues within the Ontario curriculum, using the Lakehead Public and Separate School Boards as case studies. The second, based on the findings of the first, is to produce French and English original material on the history of the labour movement in the region for the use of classroom teachers. Topics of research to be undertaken are envisioned to include: a history of the local labour council; key events in the history of the local labour movement; and local trade union histories.
